Christian Novel Review

Having always been an avid reader, since becoming a Christian I have found a wealth of reading material in Christian bookshops and in various second hand bookshops. I have found that in Christian novels one often finds truths that help in one’s Christian walk. I enjoy reading about how the various characters deal with life, and I also find I am the richer for reading a really good Christian novel. Certain authors, through their books, give you a real insight into their joys and struggles, which I find very interesting. The books which I am going to review are those which I have really enjoyed, and have read at least twice – some books, for example the “Mark of the Lion “ series by Francine Rivers, I have read at least five times each. THREE STEPS BEHIND by DANI PETTREY

THREE STEPS BEHIND is the rhird novel in the Jeopardy Falls series by DANI PETTREY and I can’t wait for the fourth book! What a truly thrilling read, with interesting characters and a strong Christian message of trusting in the Lord and in His redemptive power.

The story starts with FBI agent, Harper, who has been captured whilst on a humanitarian mission in the Syrian hill country, escaping to Jordan. After her debriefing in the States, battered and broken, she makes straight for Deckard at Second Chances Ranch in Jeopardy Falls. Deckard and his family have had a brutal upbringing with their  con-men  parents, having been forced to work for them from early childhood. All except his oldest sister Bristol, who is still plying the trade, have come to know the Lord, and are working together to bring about justice. I really like the way the author describes her characters emotions.
There are two great romances, one of which I expect will be carried over to the next book…….
This is a thrilling murder mystery in which such things as sex trafficking and child and wife abuse, are delved into with great depth. I cannot recommend it strongly enough to anyone who enjoys this genre.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
