LIKE DANDELION DUST BY KAREN KINGSBURY
LIKE DANDELION DUST has now come out as a movie. I can recommend both the film and the book, which deal with the sensitive subject of adoption. The film is an adaptation of the novel, and the story is not exactly the same, but it is very effective. I suggest that you keep your box of tissues handy for both the book and the film!
In the story we see the agony of parents having to let go of a child, and the difficult decisions that have to be made. We also see how the child is the one who often has to suffer for the mistakes made by its parents.
The characters are very real. We see people making excuses for the decisions they make which can be harmful to others, and then we see how decisions based on honesty and unselfishness make a real difference . We also see that money and position in society are not enough for a perfect life. We also see how the quiet support of Christian family members and Christian counselling makes a difference in the characters' lives.
