Christian Novel Review

Having always been an avid reader, since becoming a Christian I have found a wealth of reading material in Christian bookshops and in various second hand bookshops. I have found that in Christian novels one often finds truths that help in one’s Christian walk. I enjoy reading about how the various characters deal with life, and I also find I am the richer for reading a really good Christian novel. Certain authors, through their books, give you a real insight into their joys and struggles, which I find very interesting. The books which I am going to review are those which I have really enjoyed, and have read at least twice – some books, for example the “Mark of the Lion “ series by Francine Rivers, I have read at least five times each. GARDEN OF THE MIDNIGHTS by HANNAH LINDER

Publication date 1/10/23
GARDEN OF THE MIDNIGHTS by HANNAH LINDER is a beautifully written historical romantic suspense novel with unforgettable characters, a well worked out and exciting plot, and a strong Christian message, mainly about the importance of forgiveness, running through it.
The story takes place in 1809. William Kensley, the illegitimate son of Constance Kensley and Edward Gresham, has been left to the mercies of his cruel aunt and alcoholic cousin With his  mother dying in childbirth, his aunt and cousin!s jealousy and the attacks on himself and those who try to help him, he is warned to flee Rosenleigh and look for answers from his father, who lives at Sharottewood Manor in Leicestershire. He finds Edward’s daughter Isabella in London and they form a special friendship. Isabella, who loves the outdoors, riding her horse and walkng on the seashore, is delighted to find a companion who enjoys the same things she does…..
There is snobbery, pride, blackmail, jealousy, gossip, hatred and much more, as those of the ton look down on anyone less fortunate than themselves. Edward  Gresham will do anything to avoid losing his important position in society and his inheritance….
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I cannot recommend this lovely read highly enough.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Barbour Publishing. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
